Assistant Professor of Photography
In order to be eligible for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor rank, the successful candidate must have a relevant terminal degree (MFA) at the time of appointment.
This position is available fall semester 2007.

Requirements: The successful candidate will have an MFA and a proven successful exhibition record; expertise in digital imaging, traditional color and black and white photography; experience in running a teaching darkroom; and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Preferences: Preference will be given to candidates with an in-depth understanding of photography and its relationship to contemporary art and new media.
The successful candidate will teach in the AA degree program in Photography and the BA Studio Art program with a concentration in Photography. He/she will work closely with the Art Department Coordinator, faculty and the Dean of Arts and Humanities.
UMA faculty may be required to teach both on and off campus. UMA has a rich history of distance education and faculty may be required to teach day and/or evening courses, and to utilize one or more distance education modalities including statewide interactive television, limited access compressed video, and web-based instruction. UMA has a strong support system in place to facilitate course development for any of these modes.
