Event Calendar

Special events and projects happening individually at each campus are posted at the bottom of this page.

September 17: Constitution Week

Both campuses will be celebrating the signing of the U.S. Constitution with a week's worth of fun and inspiring programming.  We'd love to hear your ideas on how you'd like to celebrate one of our country's most important documents.  Stop by the Office of Community Engagement on your campus to share ideas or help organize Constitution Week events.

November 12: Natl. Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week

During this week before Thanksgiving we spend some time learning about issues related to hunger, homelessness, and poverty both here in Maine and across the country.

January: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

UMA/UCB students make this "a day ON, not a day off" as we celebrate the life and accomplishments of Dr. King through service to our community.

March: Read Across America

UMA/UCB students go into local schools and read to children to help celebrate this day devoted to childhood literacy.

Bangor

Pillows for Kids: Pillows for Kids is a volunteer-run program on the Bangor campus that provides pillows to Acadia Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center.  Students sew the pillows, and Acadia and EMMC pass them out to children admitted to the hospital.  We also provide fabric paint so the kids can decorate their pillow cases.
