University College Centers

Access to quality public higher education is the primary mission of the Iniversity College centers. The University of Maine System centers share a commitment to individual commuter students, assisting in every way possible, to make the college-learning experience a success. Centers offer classrooms, computer labs, study space and University administrative offices. Student support services include: information, academic advising, career direction, tutoring and business services. Students may inquire, register, make payments and access statewide library information at the centers.

Baccalaureate degrees in applied science, business administration, liberal studies, Information and Library Services, and mental health and human services are offered as well as associate degrees in liberal arts, social services, business administration, and Information and Library Services. Courses leading toward various baccalaureate degrees are also available. Courses are offered day and evening to accommodate the various schedules of part-time and full-time students.

The centers take full advantage of modern technologies to provide students with courses and information from all the branches of the University of Maine System. Center staffs are knowledgeable about the requirements of their regional campuses and can assist students who wish to make the transition to main campus programs. Both on-site and interactive television instruction, in addition to online courses, allow students a range of choices. The centers specialize in the adult student who is beginning a college experience. University College Centers are located in Bath, Calais, Dover-Foxcroft, Ellsworth, East Millinocket, Houlton, South Paris, Rumford, Saco, Sanford and Thomaston.
