Did you know we have a Facebook group for UMA ILS ALUMS!? Check it out!
A recent grad said: "I started a class at the Library of Congress for federal library technicians and today, when asked, I was the one person of 60+/- who had used and established a Facebook account. I was also the only person who had used an e-book reader. Many of the online things we experimented with throughout the degree program (blogs, podcasts, social networking, e-books, etc.) are brought up by lecturers and I am often amazed at how tech-literate I feel. The exposure we received to new technologies being used in libraries often proves to be a real asset in the working world!"
~Jody A. Class of 08

Tuition Changes
Effective Fall 2008, ILS students residing outside the state of Maine will pay a standard tuition rate of 125% of Maine in-state tuition for ALL their online courses at UMA (this includes ILS and non ILS courses offered by UMA). While this increases the cost of ILS courses, it dramatically decreases the cost of non-ILS general education and elective courses offered by UMA. We hope this change will ultimately be a benefit to our ILS students as it makes taking all of your courses through UMA a more viable (and less expensive) option. Please note that for students residing outside the state of Maine, all other U.Maine System courses (non-UMA) will be charged at the out-of-state rate, which varies by campus.
Applying for Graduation? If you are going to be graduating at the end of the summer or fall term, please make sure you apply to graduate. Also please make sure any outstanding transcripts have been requested and mailed to UMA to be evaluated.
Please fill out UMA's graduation application.
Check your CHECK SHEETS!!
ILS courses that are NOT on the checksheet for the AS or BS program CAN be substituted for one of your ILS electives. Please talk with your advisor if you are interested in taking one of these classes and applying it toward your degree program. Examples of courses are: ILS 306, ILS 205, ILS 375
