UCB Writing Center
The Writing Center is located on the first floor of Belfast Hall. This center provides drop-in service Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional Fridays.
The Center is staffed by faculty and trained student tutors. The Writing Center is not only a resource with books, handouts, and supplemental material, but it offers students services such as working one-on-one with tutors on sentence, paragraph, and essay development, as well as development of ideas for assignments.
With the tutor, students are able to identify areas of weakness and work on strategies for correcting those problems.
Students are also welcome to make use of the computer terminals available in the Writing Center when conducting research.
This past academic year over a thousand visits were logged to the Writing Center, which shows that it's an active location on campus.
